Job Description/ Responsibilities Shift Model: 24×7 rotational
Role Overview
Responsible for proactive monitoring, first-level diagnosis, and L1/L1.5 troubleshooting. Not a catch-and-dispatch role. Expected to perform initial troubleshooting, attempt first-level fixes, provide accurate findings, update documentation, and join troubleshooting bridges.
Key Responsibilities • Monitoring & Event Handling: Monitor using SolarWinds, Thousand Eyes, Netscout, Dynatrace. Validate alerts and perform L1/L1.5 troubleshooting. • Troubleshooting: Run diagnostics, analyze routing issues, validate firewall health, attempt corrective actions. • Incident Process: Document steps, join bridges, escalate to L2/L3 with data. • Documentation: Maintain SOPs, guides, diagrams.
Technical Skills • Routing/switching (BGP, OSPF, VLAN, STP, ACLs). Exposure to Arista, Fortigate, Cisco, F5. • Monitoring using SolarWinds, TE, Netscout, Dynatrace. Strong problem-solving and communication.
Role-Based Expectations • PA: Runbook-driven L1 tasks. • A: L1.5 diagnostics, support PAs, refine escalations. • SA: Escalation point, advanced diagnostics, lead troubleshooting, documentation quality.
Qualifications & Experience • Degrees in CS/IT/Networking preferred. • CCNA/CCNP • Network+ • ITIL
Experience: • SA 4-7 yrs • M Level 6 - 9 years
