The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing large-scale network solutions to support enterprise systems.
This role includes building thoughtfully integrated network architectures, overseeing technical debt reduction, ensuring security-conscious practices, and guiding teams through complex scaling and reliability challenges.
The position also requires strong collaboration with engineering, product stakeholders, and vendors while providing mentorship and technical leadership across teams.
Key Responsibilities
Write tests and document technical work products, including scripts, code, and processes in alignment with organizational standards. Deliver high-quality engineering output and coach team members on technical best practices. Conduct root cause analysis and lead execution of action plans to resolve systemic issues. Design integrated network systems that align with organizational best practices and support enterprise-wide scalability and reliability. Manage and reduce technical debt across existing systems while supporting ongoing implementation efforts. Anticipate scaling, latency, and durability challenges and guide teams in implementing effective solutions. Partner with security teams to incorporate secure practices early in the system development lifecycle. Evaluate technical risks and guide teams toward practical mitigation strategies. Work collaboratively across multiple teams to resolve issues, break down silos, and improve cross-functional outcomes. Build strong relationships with engineering leaders, product stakeholders, and key vendors to support strategic alignment. Translate technical strategies into actionable engineering components within the relevant business domain. Identify and promote opportunities for reuse to eliminate duplicated efforts across teams. Mentor team members and ensure alignment on engineering strategy across product domains. Lead cross-team initiatives that advance broader organizational strategy. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical field; or equivalent experience. 10+ years of experience designing, developing, and implementing large-scale network solutions in production environments. Strong experience with LAN/WAN, Cisco Meraki, Aruba, and Palo Alto firewalls. Deep expertise in network infrastructure, including VoIP/IP telephony, routing and switching architectures, and cloud integration. Proven ability to design and support enterprise-grade communication and networking solutions across large, distributed environments. Expert-level knowledge of dynamic routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and anycast. Strong knowledge of SD-WAN, MPLS, VXLAN, cloud networking, and systems interconnectivity. Experience with SIP architecture and VoIP networking in both customized and COTS environments. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and senior leadership. Skilled in producing detailed architecture documentation, design drawings, and operational runbooks. Ability to lead and influence decision-makers, work through ambiguity, and provide clear technical direction. Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Cisco Meraki, Velocloud, SSE (Palo Alto Prisma), and Aruba wireless technologies. Demonstrated success mentoring engineering teams and aligning technical strategy across organizations. Certifications
Relevant network certifications.
