Scope of the role
The Mechanical Design Engineer supports end-to-end development, partnering with nearby suppliers to accelerate learning and delivery. Create SolidWorks 3D CAD and detailed drawings for production. Design plastic components for injection moulding and assembly automation. Prototype, plan tests, analyse results and iterate. Support DFM and tolerance discussions with suppliers. Collaborate with electronics, firmware and industrial design colleagues.
Key skills and experience required Proven project work as a Mechanical Design Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or Design Engineer. Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised university. SolidWorks proficiency, sound drawings practice, and tolerance stacks. DFM for injection moulding; exposure to FEA and hand calculations.
