Join our vibrant logistics team in San Diego, California, as a Receiving Clerk! This position is crucial for managing the inbound flow of goods into our warehouse. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and committed to ensuring the accuracy of all incoming shipments. You will play a vital role in maintaining efficient warehouse operations and supporting our supply chain.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Verify received goods against purchase orders and packing slips for accuracy.
- Document any discrepancies, damages, or shortages and report them promptly.
- Record received items into the inventory management system.
- Organize and stage received products for efficient put-away or further processing.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly receiving area and warehouse dock.
- Operate basic material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and hand trucks.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory counts and other warehouse tasks as needed.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, drivers, and internal departments regarding receiving activities.
- Support the overall logistics operations by ensuring timely and accurate processing of incoming goods.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in receiving, warehousing, or a related logistics role is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and processes.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds, standing, and walking.
- Understanding of warehouse safety best practices and the importance of PPE.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and possessing a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Must be willing to wear required PPE.
