We are looking for a meticulous Inventory Control Specialist to join our San Diego, California team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. Your primary duties will involve conducting regular inventory counts, investigating discrepancies, implementing corrective actions, and ensuring our inventory management system is up-to-date. This position is fundamental to our logistics operations, as accurate inventory ensures efficient order fulfillment and customer satisfaction. You will work closely with other warehouse staff to monitor stock levels, manage the receiving and put-away process, and support shipping operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, exceptional attention to detail, and a solid understanding of inventory control principles and warehouse logistics. We are committed to providing a safe working environment, and all employees are expected to adhere to safety procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). While this role may not involve extensive lifting, an understanding of safe lifting practices is beneficial, as is the ability to be on your feet for extended periods. Experience with WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) is highly desirable.
Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts and full physical inventories.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the WMS.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Coordinate with receiving, shipping, and operations teams to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Implement and enforce inventory control procedures.
- Identify and report slow-moving or obsolete stock.
- Assist in the training of other warehouse personnel on inventory procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and PPE requirements.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in inventory control or a similar warehouse role.
- Proficiency in WMS software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Understanding of warehouse logistics and inventory management best practices.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Knowledge of safe material handling and lifting techniques.
- Commitment to adhering to safety protocols and using PPE.
Physical Demands: This position requires extended periods of standing, walking, and working with computer systems. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be necessary.
Safety Commitment: A safe working environment is a priority. You will be trained on and expected to follow all established safety protocols, including the appropriate use of PPE. Understanding and applying safety practices is integral to successful logistics operations.
