Job Summary :
Jewelers Mutual Group is seeking a Data Scientist I to join their dynamic team. The role involves analyzing large datasets to derive actionable insights, developing predictive models, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business decisions.
Responsibilities : • Develop predictive models and algorithms to address business challenges and opportunities. • Leverage behavioral analytics data to enhance existing models and drive data-informed decision-making. • Explore new data and review, clean, and transform data as needed to support modeling, analysis, and data visualization. • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their goals and formulate data-driven solutions. • Interpret and communicate insights and findings from analyses to stakeholders. • Collaborate with business stakeholders to support the introduction of new products, enhancements to existing products (forms, rates, rules), and/or entry into new markets to reach company profit and growth targets. • Serve as product expert supporting corporate actions and operational initiatives. • Monitor overall product performance on Jewelers Mutual book of business and communicate findings to key stakeholders. • Work on complex problems/projects where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors. • Utilize JM Group or authorized third-party data to perform statistical analysis and data mining to understand current and historical patterns that can be utilized to improve business performance.
Qualifications : Required : • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related quantitative field. • Experience with Python and/or R as it relates to data manipulation and analysis. • Experience with statistical methods and concepts, such as hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and probability theory. • Experience with SQL, Power BI, and/or other query/reporting skills. • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. • Effective communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
