Senior Advanced Applications Engineer . In this position, you will partner with key stakeholders, including Engineering, Grid Operations, IT, and system vendors, to develop and enhance applications such as Load Flow, State Estimation, and Fault Location Isolation and Service Restoration (FLISR), among others. Your expertise will contribute significantly to our technology roadmap and operational excellence. Your responsibilities will encompass gathering requirements, system design, evaluation, deployment, and ongoing support. Strong communication and organizational skills will be vital as you translate user needs into effective solutions and help to shape the design of support and operations teams. Salary Range Minimum Base Salary (Bay Area): $122,000.00 Mid Base Salary (Bay Area): $158,000.00 Maximum Base Salary (Bay Area): $194,000.00 Minimum Base Salary (California): $116,000.00 Mid Base Salary (California): $150,000.00 Maximum Base Salary (California): $184,000.00 Responsibilities Act as a lead liaison collaborating with system integrators and business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to implement ADMS. Partner with vendors to resolve technical challenges and deliver tailored solutions. Maintain in-depth knowledge of product solutions, influencing PG&E's technology roadmap. Enhance and refine PG&E's electrical distribution Network Model through engineering analysis. Participate in functional testing to validate system performance against acceptance criteria. Review and modernize field construction standards to support system functionality. Provide tier 2 application support and assist control center operations for optimal application performance. Serve as the applications subject matter expert, coordinating across various teams and leading root cause analysis for system events. Travel to San Ramon may be required up to 10%. Qualifications Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience. 5 years of electric utility-related work experience. Experience with grid modeling software (e.g., CYMDIST, PSLF, Aspen, etc.). Desired: 5 years of experience in utility operations (transmission and/or distribution). Hands-on experience with EMS/DMS/ADMS systems (e.g., Schneider Electric, GE, Siemens). Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to build and influence relationships within PG&E. Proven execution ability and decisiveness. Expertise in SCADA and ADMS. Familiarity with Agile methodologies. Experience in cross-functional environments. Knowledge of key Electric Operations systems such as GIS, DMS, OMS. Familiarity with telemetry and communication protocols (e.g., DNP3, IEC 61850). Experience with automation and data processing tools (SQL, Python). Familiarity with tools: Jira, MS Excel, Foundry, Power BI.
