Senior Principal Data Solutions Engineer
who possesses extensive technical expertise and deep understanding of business dynamics within Go-To-Market (GTM) enterprise systems, sales, finance, and customer master data domains. In this pivotal role, you will report to the Director of Data Engineering within our Growth Experiences Technology (GET) organization. You will lead the delivery of sophisticated data platform services, architect innovative data products, and guide a talented, globally distributed team to transform Autodesk's business processes fundamentally. Your collaboration will span across departments as you partner closely with Product Managers and various GTM functions to identify impactful use cases, build robust data platform services, design groundbreaking data products, and deliver actionable insights. Your expertise will help define and optimize Autodesk's strategy for data-driven decision-making. What We're Looking For: Technical and Business Expertise:
Deep experience in GTM enterprise systems, sales, finance, and customer data. Proficiency in data platforms, ETL tools, AI and ML strategies.

Responsibilities Collaborate with multiple scrum teams (each comprising 7-9 engineers) as a force multiplier, mentoring and developing high-performing data engineering teams.
Set and maintain high standards for code quality, readability, and maintainability across diverse engineering teams.
Navigate large and complex codebases swiftly, making informed technical decisions in dynamic environments.
Own and direct the approach for data quality, focusing on framework design, enforcement, and continuous improvement.
Lead teams in managing complex production incidents and outages effectively, ensuring thorough triage, root cause analysis, and sustainable remediation.
Enhance team practices towards mature DataOps, improving system reliability, observability, and delivery speed.
Leverage advanced SQL best practices, emphasizing performance optimization, readability, and long-term maintainability.
Exhibit a strong grasp of conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling principles, applying them effectively on an enterprise scale.
Tackle complex data engineering challenges across GTM systems, balancing technical thoroughness with business outcomes.
Define and enforce testing frameworks and quality gates for data engineering deliverables.
Serve as a technical decision-maker, resolving standards-related ambiguities and aligning practices across teams.
Demonstrate business domain expertise in subscription and consumption business models.
Engage closely with stakeholders including business owners, users, product managers, and engineering teams, translating business requirements into well-documented engineering solutions.
Maintain open communication with stakeholders throughout different project phases regarding requirements, solutions, and progress.
Minimum Qualifications: BS or higher in computer science or a related technical discipline.
10+ years of hands-on experience in software and data engineering within enterprise applications and systems.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities alongside sound architectural decision-making.
Broader knowledge of software architecture concepts.
Extensive experience in data architecture and platform design.
Proficiency in data modeling, entity relationship principles, and query optimization techniques.
Expertise in Python, Snowflake, SQL, and DBT. Real-world project experience with these technologies is essential.
Hands-on experience with AWS is required.
Experience designing solutions for sales planning, account hierarchy, or customer segmentation.
Background in developing data science and ML models to extract business insights from enterprise data.
Demonstrated ownership and ability to cultivate consensus and alignment across teams and geographical locations.
Aptitude for independently designing and implementing complex enterprise system solutions while rapidly demonstrating ideas through proofs of concept.
Quick learner and effective team player with experience spanning various disciplines and team dynamics.
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
Significant experience in mentoring and coaching junior developers is a must.
Deep understanding of Agile methodologies is necessary.
Adaptable to changes and able to work effectively under pressure.
Willingness to embrace challenges and push beyond comfort zones with a growth mindset.
Preferred Qualifications Rich hands-on experience in delivering GTM enterprise solutions for sales, finance, and marketing is a plus.
In-depth knowledge of GTM business models and processes is advantageous.
Expertise in data architecture and data modeling is preferred.
Experience in building Gen AI capabilities or related solutions is a strong advantage.
Extensive experience in data science and machine learning is preferred.

For U.S.-based roles, we anticipate a starting base salary between $147,600 and $238,700, with offers determined by experience and geographic location. In addition to base salaries, our compensation packages may include annual bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
