Key job responsibilities
- Create and execute test plans for complex scenarios involving major features and applications
- Assess testability of product components and identify critical test cases with traceability to use cases
- Develop comprehensive test plans including performance, load, scalability, and usability testing
- Discover defects early by deeply understanding the product and engineering delivery processes
- Analyze and improve metrics measuring product quality and test effectiveness
- Write automated test scripts providing effective end-to-end coverage with reliability and reusability
- Create efficient test solutions optimizing hardware resources and execution time
- Drive analysis of post-release quality and defect escapes, proposing constructive solutions
- Identify root causes of quality problems and determine minimal reproduction steps
- Work with project teams to establish quality bars and participate in design discussions
- Train new team members on products, testing approaches, and quality detection methods
- Help recruit and interview for the team while mentoring QA peers
- Establish strong working relationships and engage in constructive dialogue with stakeholders
A day in the life
As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will design, develop, and execute comprehensive test strategies for Amazon-scale enterprise systems serving hundreds of thousands of associates worldwide. You will continuously learn cutting-edge testing frameworks, automation tools, and leverage the latest AWS testing capabilities. Your day involves creating automated test solutions, analyzing quality metrics, and collaborating with development teams to prevent defects before they reach production. You'll drive quality excellence by establishing testing standards, mentoring team members, and ensuring robust, scalable systems that meet Amazon's highest quality bars for our global operations.

Basic Qualifications
- 4+ years of quality assurance engineering experience
- Experience in automation testing
- Experience in manual testing
- Experience as QA lead on medium to large sized projects
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with at least one automated test framework like Selenium or Appium
- Experience in gathering test requirements to create detailed test plans and defining quality metrics to measure product quality

The base salary range for this position is listed below. As a total compensation company, Amazon's package may include other elements such as sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, basic life & AD&D insurance), Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP), Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP), paid time off, and other resources to improve health and well-being.
