We're looking for an Environmental Field Technician to join our team in Ontario to work on site characterization and remediation projects for government and private-sector clients. You'll gain valuable field experience with environmental sampling techniques and subcontractor oversight. The responsibilities will consist of a wide variety of field tasks and some data management related office tasks. Field tasks will include sample collection (groundwater, surface water, soil, sediment and air), drilling supervision, monitoring-well installation and testing, subcontractor oversight, equipment calibration, and other field duties as required. Office tasks will include tabulation/filing of field data.

The work schedule is Monday through Friday (40-hours), with some requirement for travel and overtime as necessary to meet client timelines.
* 2- or 3-year College Diploma specifically tailored for working in the Site Characterization and Remediation industry.
* Ability to travel for field projects.
* Valid Driver's License.
Ideally, You'll Also Have:
* Be a health and safety champion and support safe operations at client sites.
* Oversee or perform field tasks under minimal supervision.
* Be mechanically inclined with the ability to complete routine set-up, assembly, installation, and/or minor troubleshooting or simple repairs of sampling and monitoring equipment, as directed.
* Obtain clear field documentation utilizing inspection sheets, site assessments, quarterly reports, etc., using electronic data collection and communication platforms (i.e. iPad, MS Notes, Teams, etc.).
* Experience (or training) with sampling soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment and air.
* Experience (or training) in the construction and testing of monitoring wells.
* Experience (or training) in logging the geological characteristics of soil and rock.
* A minimum of 2 years' equivalent experience would be preferred but position is open to new graduates having a willingness to work and learn from seasoned professionals.
* Ability to work independently in various types of weather conditions and as various types of facilities.
* Computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office suite of products.
* Be physically fit to do fieldwork within various facilities up to 90% of the time, and when required wear a half-face, full-face, and/or supplied-air respirator.
* Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
* Ability to communicate effectively; verbally, in writing, and work collaboratively with internal team members and client/facility stakeholders.
* Ability to follow written procedures with several steps.
