The Human Resources Manager  is responsible for designing, monitoring and implementing human resource policies and procedures relating to all phases of personnel activity. The Human Resources Manager supports the company’s business objectives by applying consistent human resource activities to promote positive employee relations at all levels of management and to employees.  This position will report to the President/Chief Operating Officer.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the core functions of HR: Payroll, Compensation, Recruitment, Benefits, Training and Development, Budget, and Employee Relations.
  • Act as a liaison between employees and leadership to answer questions or concerns regarding company policies and procedures.
  • Provide support and counselling to management and employees.
  • Plan, direct, supervise and coordinate the activities of direct reports: Payroll, Benefits and Recruitment.
  • Partner with the leadership team to update Employee Agreements, Job Descriptions; provide recommendations for job analysis and design.
  • Manage and evaluate company benefits programs; group insurance, RRSP.
  • Oversee the classification and pay scale to establish competitive programs.
  • Participate in corporate audit preparation and represent the company in legal matters.
  • Ensure compliance with the Employment Standards Act, Health & Safety.
  • Actively involved with special projects relating to human resources and company initiatives.
  • Ensure clear, consistent, fair and timely delivery of human resource policies and procedures.
  • Conduct periodic audits, report findings and make recommendations for corrections or improvements for compliance.
  • Manage retention strategies and succession planning to ensure the organization has talent in place for future needs.
  • Contribute information: headcount, turnover, absenteeism, hires/terminations, and other statistical information as required.
  • Attend senior management staff meetings and department meetings as needed.
  • Attend personal development training and seminars.


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s or HR Certification preferred, CHRP).
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including people management or HR business partner experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian Employment Legislation and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Proven experience in negotiation, grievance and conflict resolution skills.
  • Organized and self-directed with the ability to prioritize independently.
  • Proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Working fully onsite (in Mississauga Head office) and travelling between offices regularly, visiting dealerships in the Canadian Region.
  • Must possess a current and valid driver's license with a driving record that meets the insurability guidelines set forth by the company’s insurance carrier.
  • Criminal Background check.
  • Driver’s Abstract.
  • Compensation: $100,000 +
