The Safety Advisor will be responsible for providing project safety support, leadership and coaching to field personnel to improve safe work outcomes. The position ensures that safety standards, critical tasks, and hazard controls are properly planned, communicated, and executed, while monitoring compliance and program effectiveness. The Safety Advisor will have a focus on supporting incident investigation and emergency response to manage potential loss and mitigate risk.


Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation of Keller’s safety program
  • Develop job safety analysis, and safe work practices and procedures
  • Lead project kick-off meetings to support the communication of project safety expectations
  • Conduct regular site visits and observations to monitor program effectiveness
  • Support in critical task planning and execution
  • Support emergency and incident response and investigations
  • Monitor and evaluate compliance with developed hazard assessments
  • Support the completion of and compliance with program documents
  • Provide project team with coaching and guidance on safety requirements
  • Tracking and trending of leading and lagging indicators


Requirements & Qualifications:

  • NCSO designation
  • 5+ years in a Field Safety role with progressive responsibilities
  • Ability to travel within Western Canada
  • Proven history of a collaborative approach to safety with an emphasis on coaching and guidance
  • Demonstrable understanding of applicable OHS regulations and legislation
  • Experience creating and implementing effective hazard assessments and practices
  • Superior communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong organization, analytical and leadership skills
