What You’ll Do

As Site Manufacturing Engineer, you will represent CRWS on site at a key manufacturing partner and act as the single point of technical truth. You will ensure production aligns with engineering intent, quality requirements, and schedule commitments, while providing hands-on execution support and real-time issue resolution.

This role operates in a high-urgency industrial and rail environment and is ideal for an engineer or technologist who is comfortable working autonomously on site, coordinating across teams, and driving execution without compromising safety, quality, or compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as CRWS’s official on-site technical representative.
• Serve as the primary interface between Montréal-based engineering teams and on-site production.
• Take engineering decisions on the spot or collaborate with head office to quickly resolve production snags.
• Perform on-site measurements, inspections, sampling, and photographic documentation.
• Identify, document, and report deviations between drawings and actual production.
• Participate in design reviews and provide field-based technical feedback.
• Produce structured weekly technical and execution reports.
• Coordinate day-to-day execution between CRWS and the manufacturing partner.
• Help the PM monitor production progress, workforce mobilization, and schedule adherence.
• Support achievement of critical production milestones.
• Act as CRWS’s “eyes and ears” for quality on site.
• Perform ad-hoc conformity checks against drawings and specifications.
• Support inspections, deviation management, and corrective actions.
• Co-develop and maintain a site-specific Quality Plan with the manufacturing partner.
• Review and contribute to technical documentation, including drawings, BOMs, procedures, and as-built records.
• Support change management and technical decision traceability.
• Coordinate logistics and onboarding for visiting CRWS personnel.
• Ensure proper setup and day-to-day operation of CRWS’s on-site office.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering.
• 5–10+ years of experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial project environments.
• Strong exposure to mechanical systems and shop-floor execution.
• Experience in rolling stock, transportation, or heavy industry is a strong asset.
• Proven ability to act as a liaison between engineering and production teams.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Practical understanding of fabrication processes and industrial production.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
• Strong technical writing and structured reporting skills.
• Comfortable working independently in a remote or semi-autonomous site environment.
• Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.

Vos responsabilités

À titre d’Ingénieur(e) de fabrication sur site, vous représenterez CRWS auprès d’un partenaire manufacturier clé et agirez comme point de référence technique principal sur le site.

Vous veillerez à ce que la production respecte les intentions d’ingénierie, les exigences de qualité et les échéanciers, tout en assurant un soutien opérationnel concret et une résolution rapide des enjeux.

Ce poste s’exerce dans un environnement industriel et ferroviaire à haut niveau d’urgence. Il s’adresse à une personne autonome, capable de coordonner plusieurs intervenants et de livrer des résultats sans compromis sur la sécurité, la qualité et la conformité.

Principales responsabilités

• Agir à titre de représentant(e) technique officiel(le) de CRWS sur le site.
• Servir d’interface principale entre les équipes d’ingénierie de Montréal et la production sur place.
• Prendre des décisions techniques sur le terrain ou collaborer avec le siège social pour résoudre rapidement les problématiques.
• Effectuer des mesures, inspections, échantillonnages et documentations photographiques.
• Identifier, documenter et signaler les écarts entre les plans et la production réelle.
• Participer aux revues de conception et fournir une rétroaction technique terrain.
• Produire des rapports techniques et opérationnels hebdomadaires structurés.
• Coordonner l’exécution quotidienne entre CRWS et le partenaire manufacturier.
• Soutenir le chargé de projet dans le suivi de l’avancement, de la mobilisation des équipes et du respect des échéanciers.
• Contribuer à l’atteinte des jalons critiques de production.
• Agir comme « yeux et oreilles » de CRWS en matière de qualité sur le site.
• Effectuer des vérifications ponctuelles de conformité aux plans et spécifications.
• Soutenir les inspections, la gestion des écarts et les actions correctives.
• Co-développer et maintenir un plan qualité spécifique au site.
• Réviser et contribuer à la documentation technique (plans, nomenclatures, procédures, dossiers tel que construit).
• Soutenir la gestion du changement et la traçabilité des décisions techniques.
• Coordonner la logistique et l’accueil du personnel CRWS en visite.
• Assurer l’installation et l’opération quotidienne du bureau CRWS sur site.

Profil recherché

• Baccalauréat en génie mécanique, industriel ou électrique.
• 5 à 10 ans et plus d’expérience en milieu manufacturier, industriel ou de fabrication.
• Forte exposition aux systèmes mécaniques et à l’exécution en atelier.
• Expérience en matériel roulant, transport ou industrie lourde (atout majeur).
• Capacité démontrée à faire le lien entre l’ingénierie et la production.
• Excellente capacité à lire et interpréter les plans et devis techniques.
• Bonne compréhension des procédés de fabrication industrielle.
• Maîtrise de Microsoft 365 (Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
• Excellentes compétences en rédaction technique et en production de rapports structurés.
• Capacité à travailler de façon autonome dans un environnement semi-isolé.
• Bilinguisme (français/anglais) constitue un atout.
