Canadian Energy Services, the drilling fluids division of CES Energy Solutions, is looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, and organized individual to fill the position of Technical Analyst . This position is a full time position and is based in Calgary, AB reporting to the Technical Manager.
Responsibilities Include:
- Preparation, interpretation and analysis of hydraulics and torque/drag models to support day-to-day operations, well planning and post-well analysis.
- Interpret EDR data to calibrate hydraulics and torque/drag models against field data.
- Translate modeling results into clear technical summaries and recommendations to support drilling fluid system performance and drilling execution.
- Build and maintain a database of modeling results.
- Assist with other day-to-day activities such as the preparation of reports, well reviews, etc.
- Interactions with Sales Representatives, Operations Personnel, and other Staff to ensure alignment between planning, drilling and post-well analysis.
- Other duties as assigned. Weekend work and on-call duties will be required periodically.
Qualifications Include :
- Strong working knowledge Hydraulics & Torque/Drag modeling.
- Understanding of drilling fluids and operations.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills. The ability to interpret and analyze large datasets.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Power Point.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Capable of presenting technical information clearly and professionally.
- Self-motivated and able to work both independently and within a team environment.
- Highly-organized, detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple projects.
Additional qualifications that would be considered an asset for this position are:
- Experience in the oil & gas industry, particularly within drilling fluids, drilling operations or technical well planning.
- Diploma in Petroleum Technology, Engineering degree, or related education.
- Experience with GeoScout, XI Technologies or similar industry databases.
- Knowledge of PowerBI.
