CG Construction Services Ltd is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Estimator to join our growing team. In this role, you will work closely with Management and the Project Team to support daily estimating functions, contributing to the preparation, organization, and coordination of competitive project bids. The successful candidate will develop a strong understanding of construction pricing strategies to help ensure bids are both competitive and profitable. This position plays an integral role in overall project success and requires strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, technical aptitude, and the ability to collaborate effectively throughout the bidding process.

Key Responsibilities and Skills

Monitor multiple bid platforms daily, identify potential opportunities, and compile projects for management review. Download and organize all bid documentation within the Estimation program. Develop and maintain comprehensive databases of pricing data for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor quotes. Prepare detailed construction cost estimates by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and project requirements. Assist in the development of project schedules and resource planning to support accurate estimations. Ability to analyze complex blueprints, specifications, and contractual documents accurately

Review bid documents thoroughly to ensure all aspects of the project are accounted for in the estimate. Support project management teams during the bidding process by providing technical insights and cost analysis. Monitor market trends and adjust estimating strategies accordingly to remain competitive.

Collaborate with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to gather necessary information and negotiate terms.

Effective communication skills for collaborating with both internal and external teams. Track bid closings and ensure all bid results are accurately entered into SharePoint.

Print drawing sets and supporting documentation as needed. Learn and utilize estimating software and provide support on new bids as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong document control and organizational skills. Ability to quickly learn new software systems. Degree and/or a diploma in Civil Engineering, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. 0-2 years of construction estimating experience. Proficient in reading and interpreting drawings and specifications
