A major utilities infrastructure program in Atlantic Canada is seeking an experienced Construction Supervisor to support a multi-year substation and high-voltage yard expansion. This is a hands-on, site-based role overseeing complex civil and electrical construction activities from early works through commissioning.
Construction Supervisor – Transmission Line Projects (2.5-Year Contract)
A leading regional energy utility is seeking an experienced Construction Supervisor to support a major, multi-year transmission infrastructure program in NB. This high-impact project includes new high-voltage transmission lines, system expansions, and critical grid upgrades scheduled through the end of 2028 .
This is a hands-on, field-focused leadership role overseeing year-round transmission line construction activities. If you thrive in active construction environments and bring deep expertise in high-voltage line work, we’d love to connect.
What You’ll Do
- Lead all on-site transmission line construction activities across a multi-year infrastructure program
- Provide daily field supervision to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to specification
- Coordinate contractors, Field Operations Specialists, and Permit Coordinators during peak construction periods
- Monitor project progress, schedules, and quality standards
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and internal procedures
- Support resource planning and construction sequencing during slower field periods
- Troubleshoot field challenges and escalate risks proactively
- Maintain clear communication between field teams and internal stakeholders
- Contribute to construction planning for upcoming seasonal work cycles
Work Schedule & Commitment
This is a 2.5-year contract running through late 2028, aligned with active construction phases.
Anticipated Schedule:
- May–August 2026: 50% on-site / 50% office (5 days/week)
- September–December 2026: ~75% on-site, remaining time in planning
- January 2027–December 2028: Primarily 100% on-site (5+ days/week), with planning time as required
Workdays will typically range from 8–12 hours , depending on contractor schedules and construction demands.
Must-Have Qualifications
- ****Certified Powerline Technician****
- 10+ years of experience in transmission line construction
- Proven experience supervising construction and/or maintenance activities on high-voltage transmission projects
- Strong knowledge of field safety standards and construction best practices
- Demonstrated ability to lead field crews and coordinate multiple stakeholders
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with large-scale utility infrastructure programs
- Background in transmission line maintenance
- Resource planning and workforce coordination experience
- Previous experience working within a utility environment
Location
On-site role supporting construction activities in New Brunswick. Year-round field presence is required based on project phases.
