Seeking a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk for our fast-paced New York City, New York warehouse. This role is essential for ensuring that our products reach our customers accurately and on time. The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for preparing outgoing shipments, including accurate labeling, packaging, and documentation. You will work closely with the logistics team to coordinate carrier pickups and ensure all shipments meet company and regulatory standards. A strong understanding of shipping procedures and a commitment to Safety are paramount. This position involves significant interaction with various carriers and internal departments, requiring excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will be organized, efficient, and able to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities:
- Prepare products for shipment, ensuring proper packaging and labeling.
- Verify order accuracy before dispatching shipments.
- Generate shipping labels and necessary documentation (e.g., packing slips, manifests).
- Schedule and coordinate with carriers for pickup and delivery.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and track outgoing packages.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external carriers.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area, prioritizing Safety.
- Operate shipping equipment, such as pallet jacks and shrink wrap machines.
- Properly use all mandated PPE, including gloves and safety glasses.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a shipping or warehouse environment is advantageous.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent Lifting of up to 40 lbs.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and carrier portals.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Understanding of warehouse Safety procedures.
- Basic computer skills.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines.
