About the School
The Madame Curie School of Science Technology (Curie School) is a private STEAM-
focused pre-school serving 18 months to 5 year olds. We are located in Northern
Virginia (Herndon, Fairfax County). Curie School combines hands-onscience and technology education
with traditional academic rigor.
Objective
We are seeking an experienced Accreditation Consultant to lead our school through dual
accreditation with two top Virginia agencies—Virginia Association of Independent
Specialized Education Facilities (VAISEF), Cognia and SAIS. The goal is to obtain state-
recognized accreditation in time to launch a full-day kindergarten program by August 1,
2026
.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the accreditation process with two agencies (VAISEF, Cognia or SAIS), including all
documentation and site preparation.
Ensure compliance with VCPE and Virginia state education standards (§22.1-19).
Coordinate submission timelines, self-study reports, and inspection visits.
Align the kindergarten curriculum and policies with both county and state
requirements.
Serve as liaison with accrediting bodies and school leadership throughout the process.
Provide regular updates, milestone tracking, and ensure readiness by the program start
date.
Required Qualifications
Successful experience obtaining VAISEF, Cognia and/or SAIS accreditation for private
schools.
Strong understanding of Virginia's education regulations and accreditation process.
Experience in coordinating with VCPE and relevant county officials.
Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Ability to manage and execute a time-sensitive accreditation plan.
Consultant Deliverables
Project timeline and accreditation plan with key milestones.
Completed self-study documentation for VAISEF, Cognia and/or SAIS.
Coordination and readiness for site visits and evaluations.
Compliance checklist for final audit and program launch.
Final report with accreditation status and next steps for operational rollout.
