Summary: Join Meta's Design Engineering team as an Electrical Engineering Design Specialist and contribute to the design and operation of cutting-edge data center infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: Develop innovative concepts for new electrical power system technologies that enhance reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Oversee design execution from initial concepts to site integration, collaborating with construction teams, contractors, and vendors, while ensuring successful factory testing of systems. Lead the complete design and development cycle of electrical systems, including conceptual design, prototyping, and deployment. Engage with technology vendors and consultants to stay ahead of industry trends and influence the development of new technologies. Work collaboratively with external vendors to select and manage procurement of critical infrastructure equipment, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. Guide the evaluation and integration of new power technologies, forming specifications that support capital investments. Foster cross-functional collaboration with teams across Hardware Engineering, Supply Chain, construction, commissioning, and operations to drive project success. Travel to vendor sites and data centers for verification and validation of electrical systems technologies. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. A minimum of seven years of hands-on experience in the design and development of electrical power systems for mission-critical environments, encompassing all phases from concept through deployment. Cross-disciplinary expertise in data center electrical systems, including high, medium, and low voltage distribution, backup power solutions, energy storage, and onsite generation. Proven experience in designing and implementing protection and control systems. Familiarity with electrical power simulation software such as ETAP, EMTP, and MATLAB Simulink. Knowledge of industry standards and building codes including NEC, IEEE, and NFPA. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills in electrical design. Excellent communication and presentation abilities. Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) or equivalent. Professional Engineer registration. Expertise in reliability modeling and statistical data analysis concerning electrical power systems. Experience with power electronics and server power supplies, especially related to AC/DC conversion at varying voltage levels. Understanding of high voltage transmission planning and FERC/NERC interconnections for large loads. Experience applying systems engineering methodologies to electrical design projects. Familiarity with cost estimating methodologies and establishing business cases for electrical design projects. Active involvement in IEEE working groups focused on system planning and integration. Experience with behind-the-meter systems and integrated inverter-based technologies. Compensation: The salary range is $144,000 to $204,000 per year, plus bonuses, equity, and benefits. Industry:
