LHH is actively seeking a Senior Project Manager with secondary mortgage experience for one of our top clients in McLean! This will be a contract to start opportunity and will be onsite in their HQ in McLean.
Senior Project Manager - Secondary Mortgage Market
We are seeking an experienced Project Management professional with deep knowledge of the Secondary Mortgage Market. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience working with mortgage-related systems and technologies that support business processes. Experience with Freddie Mac and/or Fannie Mae is strongly preferred.
This role will join a high-performing project team within the Single-Family Portfolio & Servicing division and will lead the strategy, planning, development, and execution of large-scale business initiatives. The position also includes customer-facing engagement to support rollout, adoption, and ongoing stakeholder alignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategy development, planning, and execution of complex, cross-functional initiatives
- Conduct consultative needs assessments and gap analyses to develop comprehensive rollout strategies, including enterprise-wide and customer-specific implementations
- Facilitate customer meetings and feedback sessions to drive engagement and successful adoption
- Partner with internal stakeholders to align on strategic objectives, rollout plans, and change management goals
- Develop and manage detailed project work plans, issue logs, risk registers, and executive-level status reports
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership on project status, milestones, risks, and mitigation plans
- Facilitate meetings and conference calls, including scheduling, agenda development, documentation, and follow-up on action items
- Oversee and guide Business Analysts, including task delegation, reporting oversight, and presentation development
- Manage multiple workstreams and integrate them into a cohesive project plan and rollout strategy
- Prioritize competing initiatives effectively in a deadline-driven environment
- Review and edit materials to ensure clarity, consistency, and instructional quality
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Self-starter who thrives both independently and in collaborative environments
- Strong organizational and multitasking capabilities
- Assertive, dependable, and results-oriented mindset
- 5-10 years of related project management experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
- Proven experience building and maintaining project infrastructure, including:
- Project charter and vision development
- Project planning and schedule management
- Requirements gathering and documentation
- Risk and issue management
- Go-to-market planning and execution
- Experience partnering with stakeholders to define vision, business objectives, and critical success factors
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with executives, internal teams, and external customers
- Exceptional organizational, collaboration, and writing skills
- Highly detail-oriented with strong documentation discipline
- Demonstrated leadership skills that inspire confidence and motivate teams
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
