Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Manager to drive our architectural woodwork projects from contract award to final installation. The Project Manager serves as the primary liaison between customers and our internal shop production/installation crews. The ideal candidate will ensure that high-end custom cabinetry projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while proactively managing risks and changes in scope.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Lifecycle Management: Take ownership of assigned projects upon contract award, developing execution plans to manage scheduling, resources, and budgets.
- Drafting & Submittals: Coordinate with design/engineering teams to produce shop drawings, collect site measurements, and obtain client approvals on submittals.
- Production Scheduling: Collaborate with the shop floor manager to align manufacturing schedules with project phasing and construction milestones.
- Material Procurement: Identify, order, and track job-specific materials to ensure they are on hand when needed for production.
- Client & Vendor Communication: Maintain clear, proactive communication with general contractor management and lower tier subcontractors regarding project status.
- Change Order Management: Identify scope changes, document them, and secure client approval for adjustments to budget or schedule.
- Quality Control & Installation: Oversee final installation activities, troubleshoot on-site issues, and manage punch lists to ensure 100% completion.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years of project management experience within the custom cabinetry, architectural woodworking, commercial casework or countertop industry.
- Technical Skills: High proficiency in reading architectural blueprints, shop drawings, and technical specifications.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with Bluebeam Review. Strong skills in MS Office (Excel, Outlook). Ability to learn new software.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to resolve field conditions and production bottlenecks under pressure.
- Organizational Skills: Proven ability to manage multiple, simultaneous projects.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills for building strong relationships with internal crews and external clients.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Construction Management or a related field.
- Experience in high end custom finishes.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to visit construction job sites
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
