Construction Project Manager

Location: Chicago, IL & Morton Grove, IL
Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We are seeking a Construction Project Manager to oversee and manage commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of leading multiple stakeholders while delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget.

This role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with hands-on experience managing subcontractors, schedules, and budgets in an active construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of construction projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, execution, and closeout
  • Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, and field personnel
  • Prepare and manage project schedules, subcontractor scopes, and cost controls
  • Oversee subcontractor performance, safety compliance, and quality standards
  • Review contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and pay applications
  • Conduct regular project meetings and provide clear, consistent communication to stakeholders
  • Monitor jobsite progress and proactively address issues to minimize delays and disruptions
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, building codes, and safety regulations
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 1-5 years of experience in commercial construction
  • Strong understanding of construction means and methods
  • Experience managing multiple subcontractors and trades
  • Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Autodesk Construction Cloud, Procore, MS Project, Primavera, or similar)
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage projects in occupied or fast-paced environments
  • OSHA certification a plus
