Project Estimator - Commercial Glazing

Job Description

SG Metal & Glass is a Chicagoland commercial glazing contractor specializing in curtain wall, storefront, architectural metals, and custom-fabricated systems. We work with top general contractors and perform all work with our own union field crews.

We are seeking an experienced Project Estimator with commercial glazing or façade experience to join our preconstruction team.

This position plays a critical role in company growth and profitability.

Responsibilities:

• Perform quantity takeoffs for curtain wall, storefront, and glazing systems
• Review drawings, specifications, and addenda
• Solicit and analyze vendor pricing
• Build detailed Excel-based bid proposals
• Identify scope gaps and risk items
• Attend pre-bid meetings as required
• Coordinate with engineering and project management
• Assist in project handoff after award
• Track bid results and maintain estimating database

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience estimating commercial construction
• Division 8 glazing experience strongly preferred
• Strong Excel skills
• Experience with Bluebeam or On-Screen Takeoff
• Ability to interpret architectural drawings
• Organized and deadline-oriented

Preferred:
• Experience in union labor environment
• Knowledge of Chicagoland GC market
