Position Overview

We are seeking a Project Manager/Estimator to join our team in Grand Junction, CO. This role is primarily office-based but includes regular travel across Colorado for pre-bid meetings, job walks, and site visits. Many of our projects are in remote mountain locations, so candidates should be capable of hiking rugged terrain when required.

The Project Manager/Estimator will play a key role in project procurement, budgeting, and delivery. You will collaborate directly with the company president to develop growth strategies, ensure project success, and maintain our safety-first culture.

Responsibilities

• Manage project budgets, schedules, and contracts from pre-bid through closeout.

• Prepare accurate estimates and proposals for unit price and GMP projects.

• Oversee contract management, change orders, and compliance documentation.

• Develop and maintain project cost tracking and reporting using ERP systems.

• Utilize intermediate to advanced Excel skills to create custom reports and analyses.

• Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations (including remote mountain sites).

• Work closely with company leadership to identify growth opportunities and drive project success.

• Foster strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in construction management, civil engineering, mining management, or related fields.

• Background in roles such as Project Manager, Estimator, Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, or equivalent.

• Proficiency with construction ERP systems such as JobTread, HeavyJob, Procore, or similar.

• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, advanced formulas, custom reporting).

• Experience with contract and budget management, unit price contracts, and GMP projects.

• Knowledge of government contracting processes preferred.

• Familiarity with excavation equipment a plus.

• Ability to travel statewide and hike during remote pre-bid site visits.
