About the Company
We are a Riverside County–based General Engineering Contractor specializing in Public Works construction for city, county, state, and local municipal agencies. We are known for taking on complex civil infrastructure projects that others cannot or will not perform, while continuously expanding our capabilities and expertise.
Our self-performance work includes wet utilities, concrete structures, PCC paving, grading, and minor structures. Current projects include bridges, flood control channels, large-diameter storm drains, roadway construction, mass grading, and on-call emergency services.
Position Summary
The Senior Construction Project Manager is responsible for overseeing civil construction projects from preconstruction through completion. This role manages project schedules, budgets, submittals, and contract administration while coordinating with internal teams, subcontractors, and public agencies.
The successful candidate will be a proactive leader capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in full compliance with company standards, contract requirements, and local regulations. This position plays a key role in supporting Alabbasi Construction’s continued growth and expansion.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain project schedules
- Prepare, submit, and track material and shop submittals
- Establish and implement construction management systems for active projects
- Oversee project budgets, cost control, and forecasting
- Develop and review project plans, specifications, scope, and resource requirements
- Manage vendor relationships and coordinate permits through project closeout
- Organize and submit contracts, agreements, and invoices to Finance & Accounting
- Prepare and submit monthly pay estimates
- Order and coordinate materials and equipment
- Manage subcontractors, vendors, and project teams
- Ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and contract documents
- Communicate with owners, inspectors, and internal stakeholders
- Support job-site operations and resolve project issues
- Perform other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in civil construction project management
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management or 5 additional years of relative experience in civil construction.
- Strong ability to interpret blueprints and technical documents
- Demonstrated leadership, supervisory, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure and tight deadlines
Requirements
- Valid California Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Microsoft Project, Primavera, and Bluebeam.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. (occasional handling of large sets of blueprints or handling of emergency deliveries).
