Etherstack is a mission‑critical communications company delivering secure, resilient wireless technologies for government, defence, and public safety agencies globally. As we expand our UK and European operations, we are seeking an experienced Security Manager to strengthen our governance, assurance, and cyber‑security capabilities across our mission‑critical product and service portfolio.
*Job Summary*
The Security Manager is responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of Etherstack’s mission‑critical systems and services. The role provides governance, assurance, risk management and security oversight across internal teams, suppliers and customer environments, ensuring compliance with national security standards and contractual obligations.
This position is vital to protecting mission‑critical communications on which emergency services depend.
*Key Responsibilities*
*Security Governance & Oversight*
* Act as the security point of contact for government customers and security stakeholders.
* Deliver and maintain the Security Management Plan processes and procedures to ensure contract‑level compliance.
* Lead the design, implementation and maintenance of Etherstack’s Information Security Management System in accordance with ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and leading the company through achieving certification. Support compliance with applicable government security requirements (e.g., supplier assurance, data protection and protective security expectations).
· Conduct internal audit activity ensuring that Etherstack internal teams and suppliers meet all security requirements. Lead and participate in assurance reviews and security accreditation activities.
· Manage continual improvement activity ensuring the ISMS and security posture is continually improving.
* Conduct root‑cause analysis on security failures and implement mitigation plans.
* Develop and deliver security awareness and training programmes.
* Promote a strong organisational security culture aligned with security expectations.
*Threat & Risk Management*
* Identify and assess emerging security threats.
* Manage the remediation of vulnerabilities identified through third party testing activities briefing senior leadership and technical teams.
* Conduct risks assessment in accordance with best practice methodologies and identifying suitable controls to mitigating risk to an acceptable level
* Ensure internal and external processes and controls mitigate cyber and physical risks in accordance with ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and best practice such as the NCSC and HMG Security Policy Framework. Translate findings from Post‑Incident Reviews (PIRs) into actionable improvements.
*Stakeholder Engagement*
* Work closely with Etherstack clients, acting as a trusted advisor.
* Engage with customers to ensure ongoing assurance, compliance and continuous enhancement of security controls.
*Delivery & Compliance*
* Maintain oversight of in‑life security delivery performance, contract changes, incidents, and compliance obligations.
* Monitor third‑party supplier adherence to contractual security requirements and flow‑down obligations.
* Support coordination across cross‑functional security, engineering and operational teams to meet clients security objectives.
*Required Experience and Skills*
Proven experience in cyber security governance, assurance, or security management in a secure/regulated environments e.g. UK Government or Critical National Infrastructure.
Knowledge of NCSC guidance, Cyber Assessment Framework and cyber security best practices.
Strong working knowledge of ISO/IEC 27001:2022 including experience achieving certification, security risk frameworks, and National security governance.
Experience delivering security controls across complex, multi‑supplier programmes.Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder‑management skillsAbility to interpret, implement and assure compliance against detailed contractual security obligations.
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
ISO 27001 Lead Implementer / Lead Auditor
Experience supporting Government or Defence, or other mission‑critical government infrastructure.Knowledge of secure telecoms, LTE/4G networks, and public safety communications protocols.
Experience working with law‑enforcement, defence or Home Office stakeholders.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: £50,000.00-£80,000.00 per year
