Company Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Construction Manager to oversee major aviation infrastructure projects at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). This role requires deep familiarity with complex, active airport environments and the ability to lead projects within one of the busiest airports in the world.
Position Summary:
The Senior Construction Manager will lead large-scale airside and landside projects at LAX, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient project delivery within an active operating airport. The ideal candidate brings extensive aviation construction experience, strong cost control expertise, and a proven track record managing change orders in highly regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities:
· Manage all phases of aviation construction projects at LAX, from pre-construction through closeout
· Coordinate closely with Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), FAA representatives, contractors, and airport stakeholders
· Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, LAWA standards, and strict airport operational constraints
· Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and risk mitigation plans
· Lead cost control efforts, including detailed review, negotiation, and administration of change orders
· Oversee safety, quality control, and security requirements specific to active airport construction
· Provide executive-level reporting and stakeholder communication
Qualifications:
· Minimum 15 years of construction management experience, with substantial aviation project experience
· Direct experience working at LAX or other large hub airports strongly preferred
· Demonstrated expertise in cost management and change order negotiation
· Strong understanding of airside/landside coordination and working in secure, high-traffic environments
· Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
· Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Certifications:
· PMP, CCM, or equivalent
· OSHA 30-hour certification
· Experience with LAWA project procedures and documentation systems
