Job Description
Job Responsibilities NewSat is seeking an experienced Deputy Program Manager (DPM) to support our on-site team based in Colorado Springs, CO. The DPM will serve as the primary lead for materials and logistics management, overseeing procurement of Deployable Communications Capabilities System (DCCS) communications equipment, while providing direct support to the Program Manager in executing contract requirements under the guidance of the Government Contracting Officer. The ideal candidate shall provide project coordination, materials management, quality control, and leadership support. Responsibilities include:
- Lead materials and logistics management activities, including procurement, tracking, and inventory control of DCCS communications equipment and related systems
- Coordinate vendor relationships and manage supply chain activities to ensure timely delivery of equipment and materials
- Support the Program Manager in coordinating contractor activities and managing project schedules in accordance with the contract
- Provide project updates to various stakeholders regarding procurement status, logistics coordination, and project progress
- Assist in monitoring progress and making adjustments as needed to meet project milestones
- Support development of rough order of magnitude estimates for contract modifications related to equipment and materials
- Assist in developing transition and migration plans, particularly related to equipment deployment and logistics
- Review and create documentation related to materials management, procurement, and logistics operations
- Gather stakeholder requirements related to equipment specifications and logistics needs
- Identify and communicate issues and risks related to materials, procurement, and logistics to the Program Manager and Government representatives, offering recommendations for mitigation
Minimum Qualifications
- An Active, in-scope US Government issued Secret clearance
- Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, US Citizenship is required
- Minimum 2 years supervisory or leadership experience with IT/Communications projects and/or professionals
- Minimum 3 years of experience with deployable communications systems
- Experience with materials management, logistics coordination, or procurement operations
Desired Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal and teaming skills with ability to collaborate and work effectively with individuals and groups
- Strong negotiation, interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills
- Experience with supply chain management and vendor coordination
- Aptitude to thrive in a team atmosphere, while defining issues/hypotheses, performing complex analysis, and assisting with preparation and recommendations of solution alternatives
- Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently, meet deadlines and focus despite conflicting demands with minimal supervision
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical field. Preferred in relevant technical discipline, business, logistics, or supply chain management.
