Local HVAC company seeking an experienced project manager to direct and manage the field technicians
The Field project manager’s primary function will be to manage jobs in need of material and sub-contractor coordination, and inspections. This position will be responsible for the effectiveness and efficiency of each job to ensure complete customer satisfaction at the highest level of quality and profitability.
Responsibilities
1. Serve as a trusted and dependable leader of the installation team
2. Build competence and increase overall team performance through creating a culture of mutual accountability. Provides sufficient knowledge, skills, training, and information to achieve peak performance, continuous improvement, and a positive, productive work environment consistent with company goals and objectives.
3. Organize your group as required to safely, efficiently, and profitably deliver projects in the field.
4. Coach and mentor team members towards developing communications skills and client relationships.
5. After absorbing expectations from the organization, develop team members in preparedness to address challenges with their duties including management of change orders, risk, and compliance when delivering our projects.
6. Assist Estimation team with critical analysis of installation cost and refinement for system and ongoing change order quotes.
7. Provides a final analysis of installations. Suggest any changes that need to be made for smoother process and install.
8. Assist Estimator and Lead men with arranging and evaluating task scheduling of projects, level loading resources to mitigate large fluctuations in the project schedule week over week and provide durations in total hours to complete task.
9. Communicates and schedules the scope of work to installers; orders and ensures materials/equipment/subcontractors are delivered on time; permits/inspections/quality walk-through are scheduled and completed.
10. Create, manage, and report on financial status of projects on a weekly basis
11. Working closely with the Operations Manager, lead the further development of the safety culture in the delivery of our projects.
12. Work closely with other to develop mutually beneficial process improvements to improve performance.
13. Other duties as required to fulfill the responsibilities above.
14. Travel to various job sites as required.
15. Actively seek opportunities to reduce costs
16. Maintains, reviews and stays abreast of latest industry equipment, knowledge and requirements.
17. Build relationships and work with customers, vendors, and sub-contractors to ensure projects are sufficiently managed.
18. Perform site visits and random quality control checks to ensure customer satisfaction.
Abilities
1. Ability to project manage construction projects
2. Understanding of required permits
3. Understanding of construction industry and other trades
4. Ability to read, interpret, and execute plans and specifications
5. Working knowledge of and proper application of hand and power tools
6. Ability to safely operate a company vehicle
7. CPR and First Aid certified or agreeable to become certified
8. General knowledge of applicable OSHA regulations and HVAC industry codes
9. Experience and good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position supervises Installation Lead men and Installation Helpers on the jobsite. Position is responsible for assisting with performance reviews of individual and corrective actions with the HR team.
