Program Manager Feed The Hungry
FLSA: Full Time, Exempt
Position Summary: The Program Manager will be responsible for the overall supply chain management and administration, monitoring, and reporting of Feed The Hungry’s (FTH) domestic and international programs. The Program Manager will also travel at various times during the year to visit FTH programs ensuring all function efficiently, effectively and with excellence in line with the organization’s vision and mission of feeding the poor and hungry around the world, empowering the church worldwide, and sharing the hope that comes through Jesus Christ.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Direct inbound and outbound movements for logistics operations pertaining to all domestic and international programs.
- Establish and utilize measurement systems to monitor inventory levels for domestic and international programs.
- Direct warehouse staff on all international movements of shipments
- Maintain vital partnerships between Feed My Starving Children, Lifeline Christian Mission, Gleanings for the Hungry, Kids Around The World, and other in-kind agencies.
- Administer accounting and wire transfers for international programs.
- Collaborate with FBC accounting and FTH warehouse team to produce a successful end of the year audit.
- Achieve operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change.
- Liaison between International Staff and National Field Directors to implement and train of current and future Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) protocol and best practices.
- Monitor and assist with supply chain management.
- Measure the effective use of M&E surveys to assess nutritional program achievement.
- Procure and compile statistical data and other feedback from the field and complete required end-of-use reports for both internal and external purposes.
- Maintain preparedness for disaster relief response.
- Travel internationally and domestically 5-6 times a year as necessary to perform program site visits.
- Facilitate producing stories from our partners to donor relations for the purpose of sharing the impact that donors are having around the world through FTH.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Bachelor Degree in business administration, organizational management or relevant major.
- Capable of working independently as well as a contributing member of a team.
- Able to analyze, prioritize and execute multiple tasks with minimum supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, able to effectively direct and manage a multi-cultural team of employees and remote volunteers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Possesses a working knowledge of intermodal transportation.
- Genuine interest and commitment to the mission and objectives of Feed the Hungry.
- Demonstrates an understanding of international humanitarian affairs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Experience with relational database platforms (i.e., FileMaker, QuickBase, Caspio)
- Able to assess, foresee, avoid, or find creative solutions to the obstacles often associated with the complex environment of international logistics.
- Capable of representing the organization with professionalism both internally and externally.
