The Ryan Institute, LLC is looking for individuals that have a strong desire to help students and families from various backgrounds overcome academic challenges. A qualified candidate for our in-person academic mentor position should have the following:

Qualifications:

• Capable of completing a successful FBI background check and fingerprinting
• Patient, flexible, positive, consistent, dependable and cooperative with a sense of humor
• Demonstrate clear and concise communication and writing skills
• Proficiency in using web-based applications
• Ability to maintain confidential information
• Experience working with school-aged children
• Availability to work during the school day and after school, if needed

Responsibilities

• Assist students in targeted subject areas via individual or small group tutoring
• Facilitate problem-solving with a curious mind and critical thinking skills
• Collaborate effectively with parents and the organization to increase student performance
• Supervise scholars and ensures their safety, development, growth, skill achievement, and general well-being
• Assists in maintaining accurate program records, including incident reports, logbook documentation, and daily attendance
• Facilitate and create lesson plans for daily activities
• Organize and leads various small and large group activities
• Perform other duties as assigned
