*Hours:* 12 hour shifts*Duration: *1 yearContract, Onsite - Local Only*Position Overview*We are seeking an experienced *MRI-certified Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (R.T. (MR)(ARRT))* to provide onsite imaging services at the Minneapolis VA Health Care System. The technologist will perform MRI and other diagnostic imaging procedures in accordance with national clinical standards and VA policies, supporting the diagnosis and treatment of U.S. Veterans.This role requires strong technical expertise, independent clinical judgment, and strict adherence to patient safety, privacy, and regulatory standards.*Minimum Qualifications*
* *ARRT Certification required* – R.T. (MR)(ARRT)
* Certification must be *current, full, and unrestricted*
* Minimum *1 year of MRI experience*
* Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
* Current BLS (American Heart Association)
* Demonstrated technical proficiency in MRI and general radiologic procedures
* Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently
Candidates with any history of suspended, revoked, restricted, or denied certification will not be eligible.*Key Responsibilities*
* Perform MRI procedures and other diagnostic imaging exams in accordance with ARRT and VA standards
* Operate imaging equipment including MRI systems, PACS, and related technologies
* Ensure proper patient identification, contrast administration protocols, and MRI safety compliance
* Monitor patients during procedures and respond appropriately to clinical changes or emergencies
* Maintain accurate documentation within the VA’s electronic health record (CPRS)
* Adjust imaging parameters (FOV, pulse sequences, gradients, exposure factors, etc.) to optimize image quality while minimizing radiation exposure
* Support radiologists in producing high-quality diagnostic images
* Maintain equipment calibration and adhere to radiation safety practices
* Participate in staff huddles, meetings, and quality improvement initiatives
* Report patient safety incidents within 24 hours in accordance with VA policy

* Technologist must complete procedures in progress at end of shift (overtime pre-approved per VA guidelines)
*Compliance & Credentialing Requirements*Selected candidates must complete:
* VA credentialing and privileging process prior to start
* Background check
* Annual HIPAA and Privacy training
* VA security training
* Electronic Health Record training
* Bloodborne pathogen training
* Current TB screening
* Immunization documentation (MMR, Influenza)
* OIG exclusion check clearance
*Performance Expectations*
* Maintain ARRT certification and required CEUs
* 100% compliance with scope of practice and privileging
* 95%+ on-time availability for scheduled shifts
* Zero tolerance for patient safety or privacy violations
*Health Requirements*

* TB skin test, bloodwork, or Chest X-ray
