At *Eugene Networks*, our project engineers focus on *projects that improve client environments*, not endless helpdesk queues. Our Level 3 engineers work directly with business clients to design and implement infrastructure solutions including network upgrades, server deployments, security improvements, VoIP systems, and cloud services.
*Most of your time in this role will be focused on project implementation rather than daily support tickets.*
Most work is performed locally in Lane County, though occasional regional travel, and rare overnight trips (historically this has been infrequent) will be required for certain client projects.
You’ll join a *small engineering team responsible for delivering the majority of project work across our client base*. Engineers meet directly with clients, help determine what improvements should be made, and then implement those solutions with support from our helpdesk team when additional manpower is needed.

*Position Overview*
Eugene Networks is seeking an experienced *Level 3 IT Engineer* to join our Managed Services team. This role focuses primarily on *IT infrastructure projects for our business clients*, including network upgrades, server deployments, cloud implementations, security improvements, and new client onboarding.
You will regularly meet with clients alongside our operations/accounts manager and independently to identify technology needs and recommend solutions. After projects are scoped, you will lead implementation and coordinate with our support team when additional resources are required.
This role requires both *strong technical skills and the ability to communicate confidently with business clients* about infrastructure, security, and technology planning.
*Key Responsibilities*
*Project Planning & Implementation*
* Plan and execute IT infrastructure projects across multiple client environments
* Implement server deployments, network upgrades, cloud solutions, and infrastructure improvements
* Lead project work from planning through completion
* Ensure projects are delivered on time and meet client expectations
* Maintain documentation for project work and client environments
*Client Engagement*
* Meet directly with clients to assess their IT environments and recommend improvements
* Communicate project progress and technical recommendations clearly
* Help clients understand infrastructure improvements and IT security best practices
*Collaboration With Support Team*
* Work with our helpdesk/support team when additional manpower is needed for projects
* Assist with escalated technical issues when advanced troubleshooting is required
* Provide guidance to Level 1 and Level 2 technicians when appropriate
*Client Onboarding*
* Assist with onboarding new clients by evaluating existing infrastructure
* Implement improvements and standardization required for managed services

*Client-Facing Technical Skills*
Engineers must be comfortable:
* Meeting with business clients to assess technology needs
* Discussing *IT infrastructure and security best practices*
Learning the *technology and security solutions Eugene Networks deploys* and confidently discussing them with clients
*Qualifications*
*Experience*
* Minimum *4–6 years of IT infrastructure or systems engineering experience*
* *Previous MSP experience strongly preferred*
* Demonstrated experience implementing IT infrastructure projects
* Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities independently
*Education*
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred
* Equivalent professional experience will be considered
*Certifications (Preferred)*
Examples include:
* Microsoft certifications
* Cisco certifications (CCNA / CCNP)
* CompTIA Security+ or Network+
* Azure certifications
*Travel Requirements*
Travel to client locations will be required as part of this role.
The majority of Eugene Networks’ clients are located within *Lane County*, and most on-site work is performed locally. However, a small number of clients have additional locations in other areas of Oregon and Washington.
Occasionally, project work may require travel to these locations. This may include:
* Driving a few hours to regional client locations
* Occasional overnight travel
* Rare trips requiring *air travel, rental car, and hotel accommodations*
Historically, overnight travel for this role has been *infrequent*, but engineers should be comfortable traveling when projects require it.
All approved travel expenses are covered by the company.
Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
