Job Description Join our dynamic hardware development team as a Senior Hardware Development Technician. This role is crucial in supporting engineering activities that involve the configuration, validation, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electro-mechanical systems as well as experimental design circuitry and specialized test equipment. You'll be working on the next generation of Cloud Servers and GPU systems, contributing significantly to our innovation. You will also manage various aspects of lab operations, ensuring the maintenance of lab servers, stock inventory, shipping/receiving procedures, coolant distribution units, and essential test equipment. We are looking for applicants with a strong background in configuration, installation, maintenance, and the handling of servers and research & development laboratory equipment. Responsibilities: Configure, install, maintain, and manage R&D laboratory equipment. Install and modify server components such as motherboards, CPUs, DIMMs, PCIe modules, network cards, PSUs, cables, and storage drives. Rework, repair, and test system motherboards. Support integration, verification, testing, and modification of software, hardware, and system components. Coordinate the assembly of prototype systems and make necessary reconfigurations as requested by engineering. Assist with engineering reworks during product builds to ensure quality and efficiency. Ensure availability and proper maintenance of laboratory equipment, adhering to physical and environmental standards. Organize lab clean-ups and manage sustainable recycling efforts. Oversee the inventory and stock of server components and prototypes. Manage shipping and receiving for parts essential to server prototypes. Set up lab infrastructure, including the installation of PDUs, network gear, console servers, and cabling operations, as well as the racking and de-racking of servers. Physically handle materials and packages up to 25 lbs and operate platform lifts for heavier servers (up to 350 lbs). Holds an associate degree or bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical major with 4-6 years of relevant experience as a Hardware Technician. Must be authorized to work in the US. Required Skills: Extensive experience in configuration, design, installation, maintenance, and handling of R&D laboratory equipment for delivery teams. Proficient use of electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, bus analyzers, logic analyzers, and power supplies. Strong knowledge of server architecture and experience installing CPUs, memory, and other server components. Complete understanding of ESD principles and how to protect equipment effectively. Familiarity with software tools like Jira and Confluence. Preferred Skills: Ability to perform delicate rework on high-density PCBs using soldering irons. Experience in diagnosing and resolving hardware issues on server motherboards and their components. Familiarity with Intel or AMD architecture. Experience with PCIe-connected GPUs is advantageous. Proficiency in using CAD design tools such as Cadence, Concept, or Allegro. Qualifications This position is based in the US, and the hiring range is between $30.29 to $60.63 per hour, translating to an annual salary range of $63,000 to $126,100. You may be eligible for equity as part of the compensation package.
