*Position Overview*
We are seeking a highly motivated *Mechanical Design & Analysis Engineer *to support the design, development, analysis, and testing of mechanical systems and components within a regulated aerospace manufacturing environment.
This role involves executing engineering assignments related to the planning, design validation, performance analysis, and testing of mechanical equipment, systems, and processes. The selected candidate will contribute to medium-complexity projects while collaborating cross-functionally and supporting senior engineers on advanced engineering initiatives.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical capability, hands-on hardware and testing experience, and a solid foundation in thermodynamics and mechanical design principles relevant to aerospace and defense applications.
*Key Responsibilities*
*Mechanical Design & Engineering Development*
* Design and develop mechanical equipment, assemblies, and system components in alignment with aerospace standards and project requirements.
* Perform detailed engineering calculations and technical analyses to validate design integrity, functionality, and performance.
* Apply principles of applied thermodynamics and mechanical design to support environmental control systems and related aerospace components.
* Evaluate and improve mechanical systems related to assembly, repair, integration, and testing processes.
*Analysis, Testing & Validation*
* Conduct engineering analyses to ensure system performance, reliability, and compliance with applicable specifications.
* Support development and validation of thermal systems and environmental control systems (ECS).
* Participate in hands-on hardware testing, troubleshooting, and performance validation.
* Interpret and apply military, environmental, and aerospace test specifications.
* Document test results and engineering findings in formal technical reports.
*Project & Technical Support*
* Execute assignments of medium complexity under general supervision.
* Manage responsibility for secondary projects or defined portions of major engineering programs.
* Assist senior engineers in complex design and development initiatives.
* Provide technical input during design reviews and project evaluations.
* Ensure design compliance with engineering, safety, and regulatory standards.
*Cross-Functional Collaboration*
* Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, testing, and program management teams to ensure seamless product development and production transition.
* Support design-for-manufacturability (DFM) and design-for-testability (DFT) initiatives.
* Provide technical guidance to junior-level engineers, designers, and drafters as needed.
* Participate in peer design reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
*Documentation & Communication*
* Prepare detailed engineering documentation, including: Design specifications, Test procedures, Engineering reports & Technical presentations
* Present engineering concepts, design solutions, and test outcomes to peers, management, and external customers.
* Maintain accurate records in accordance with aerospace documentation and compliance requirements.
*Required Skills & Qualifications*
*Required Education*
* Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (B.S.M.E.) from an accredited institution.
*Required Experience*
* Minimum 2+ years of professional experience in mechanical design, analysis, and development of industrial or aerospace systems.
* Experience working in regulated aerospace, aviation, or defense manufacturing environments preferred.
* Demonstrated hands-on hardware testing and validation experience.
*Technical Competencies*
* Strong foundation in applied thermodynamics, heat transfer, and mechanical system design.
* Ability to perform engineering calculations, structural assessments, and thermal analyses.
* Experience supporting environmental control systems (ECS) or thermal system development preferred.
* Knowledge of mechanical assemblies and component integration.
* Familiarity with aerospace and military standards (MIL-STD) and compliance environments.
* Understanding of engineering drawing standards and GD&T principles.
*Testing & Validation Expertise*
* Experience conducting prototype, validation, and environmental testing.
* Ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical performance issues.
* Experience interpreting test specifications and documenting findings.
* Hands-on laboratory and hardware integration experience required.
*Software & Technical Tools*
* Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA, or similar).
* Experience with engineering analysis tools (ANSYS, FEA, CFD tools preferred).
* Familiarity with PLM systems and documentation control environments.
* Strong capability in Microsoft Office for reporting and technical documentation.
*Project & Collaboration Skills*
* Ability to manage medium-complexity engineering assignments under supervision.
* Experience supporting senior engineers on larger aerospace programs.
* Participation in design reviews and technical discussions.
* Strong cross-functional collaboration with manufacturing, quality, and program management teams.
*Compliance Requirement*
* Must be a U.S. Citizen due to defense/aerospace regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate is a mid-level Mechanical Engineer with 3–5 years of aerospace or regulated manufacturing experience who combines strong analytical engineering skills with practical, hands-on hardware testing capability. This individual demonstrates the ability to contribute to subsystem-level design efforts while supporting senior engineers on larger system programs.

Pay: $40.00 - $65.00 per hour
