You will be responsible for troubleshooting, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring that all machinery, from conveyors to forklifts, operates at peak performance. This position requires a strong technical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of warehouse operations and logistics. The ideal candidate will have experience with a variety of warehouse technologies and a commitment to safety protocols, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on warehouse equipment, including conveyors, sorters, and automated systems.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues to minimize downtime.
- Conduct safety inspections of all equipment and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Operate and maintain specialized warehouse machinery, adhering to safety guidelines.
- Assist with the installation and setup of new equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inventory of spare parts.
- Ensure proper functioning of forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Implement and enforce safety procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE, to ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with the operations team to optimize equipment performance and workflow within the logistics chain.
- Respond to equipment malfunctions promptly and efficiently.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or Associate's degree in a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Technician, Maintenance Mechanic, or similar role.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with warehouse automation and material handling systems.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical systems.
- Familiarity with industrial safety standards and the importance of PPE.
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts and other heavy equipment.
- Physical ability to perform tasks requiring lifting, climbing, and working in various conditions.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
