We are hiring a skilled Forklift Operator for our busy San Francisco, California warehouse. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts to move, load, unload, and stack materials. This role is fundamental to the smooth operation of our logistics and warehousing functions, ensuring that goods are handled correctly and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move pallets, materials, and other items throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks and trailers efficiently and safely.
- Stack and store materials in designated locations within the warehouse.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on forklifts to ensure they are in safe working condition.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
- Assist with inventory management tasks as needed, such as relocating stock.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Work collaboratively with other warehouse team members to ensure efficient workflow.
- Participate in safety training sessions and promote a culture of safety.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification or the ability to obtain one.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Excellent knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to forklift operation.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Good hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to wearing required PPE at all times while operating equipment.
