Our Jacksonville, Florida facility is looking for a professional Shipping Clerk to manage outgoing shipments. This role is central to our logistics operations, requiring meticulous attention to detail in preparing documentation, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring packages are dispatched accurately and on time. You will be responsible for maintaining records and upholding the standards of our shipping department. Responsibilities:
- Prepare all necessary shipping documents, including bills of lading and manifests.
- Verify outbound shipments against customer orders and packing lists.
- Package goods securely for various shipping methods.
- Schedule and coordinate pick-ups with freight carriers and parcel services.
- Track shipments and provide updates to stakeholders as needed.
- Maintain accurate shipping logs and update inventory systems.
- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely for material movement.
- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and Safety standards.
- Wear required PPE, such as steel-toed boots and high-visibility vests.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and external partners.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics role.
- Proficiency with shipping software and carrier portals (e.g., UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager).
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a busy environment.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform moderate physical activity.
- Capability for Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of warehouse Safety best practices.
