We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Baltimore, Maryland. This role is crucial for ensuring that all outbound shipments are accurately documented, prepared, and dispatched efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and accuracy within our distribution center. You will be responsible for verifying shipping information, coordinating with carriers, preparing shipping labels and documents, and ensuring that all packages meet company and carrier requirements. This position involves working closely with other warehouse staff to ensure a smooth flow of goods from our facility to their destinations. Your role in our logistics operations is vital to our success in serving our customers promptly and reliably. We offer a competitive hourly wage and opportunities for growth within our company. Responsibilities:
- Verify accuracy of shipping orders and ensure all information is correct before dispatch.
- Prepare shipping labels, packing slips, and other necessary documentation.
- Coordinate with various shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS, LTL freight) to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Inspect outgoing packages for damage or discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and logs.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and **safety** regulations, including the proper use of **PPE**.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as needed.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments and external partners.
- Handle **Lifting** of packages up to 50 lbs occasionally.
Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or a related **logistics** role is preferred. Familiarity with shipping software and carrier portals is a plus. Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform moderate physical labor. A strong understanding of warehouse **safety** procedures is essential. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
