We are seeking a diligent Material Handler to join our team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In this role, you will be responsible for moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and staging products. Your primary objective will be to ensure that materials are handled efficiently and safely throughout the warehouse. This includes operating various types of equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, to transport goods. You will play a vital part in maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting production or shipping schedules. A strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures is essential, and you must be comfortable wearing the required PPE . This position requires physical dexterity and the ability to perform tasks involving considerable Lifting . We value individuals who are proactive, detail-oriented, and dedicated to contributing to a smooth Logistics operation. You will work closely with other warehouse staff to ensure that all materials are accounted for and in the correct locations. Responsibilities:
- Move, load, and unload materials by hand or using material handling equipment.
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequences.
- Assist in maintaining an accurate inventory.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, especially regarding Safety and the use of PPE .
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks as needed.
- Identify damaged items or discrepancies and report them immediately.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the Logistics process through effective material handling.
- Perform tasks that involve regular Lifting of materials up to 60 pounds.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience operating forklifts or other powered industrial trucks is a plus.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring frequent Lifting , bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Knowledge of safe material handling techniques and warehouse procedures.
- Familiarity with PPE and general warehouse Safety practices.
- Basic understanding of inventory control and Logistics principles.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
