Our Grand Rapids, Michigan, facility is looking for a detail-oriented Order Picker to join our dedicated warehouse team. As an Order Picker, you will be instrumental in fulfilling customer orders accurately and efficiently. Your primary duties will involve using pick sheets or handheld scanners to locate and retrieve items from warehouse shelves. This role demands precision, speed, and a strong commitment to maintaining inventory accuracy. You will be responsible for assembling orders, ensuring correct items and quantities are picked, and preparing them for the packing station. Adherence to all Safety procedures and the correct use of PPE are non-negotiable. This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle repetitive tasks, and perform moderate Lifting . Understanding warehouse layouts and the importance of accurate order picking in the overall Logistics chain is key. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick customer orders using pick lists or RF scanners.
- Locate products within the warehouse efficiently.
- Verify product codes and quantities against order details.
- Replenish inventory in picking locations as needed.
- Stage picked orders for the packing department.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all established Safety guidelines and procedures.
- Wear required PPE , including safety shoes and gloves.
- Report any discrepancies in inventory or picking errors.
- Assist with other warehouse tasks as assigned, including occasional Lifting .
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous warehouse or picking experience preferred but not required.
- Basic math and reading skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately.
- Comfortable with repetitive tasks and moderate physical exertion.
- Willingness to follow Safety protocols and wear PPE .
- Understanding of warehouse operations and basic Logistics .
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Attention to detail is crucial.
- Must be able to perform some manual Lifting .
