Join our bustling distribution center in Nashville, Tennessee, as a Material Handler! We are looking for dedicated individuals to support the smooth operation of our warehouse by managing the flow of materials. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing materials and products throughout the facility. Your role is vital to our logistics operations, ensuring that inventory is accurately tracked and readily available. Key responsibilities include operating forklifts and other material handling equipment, loading and unloading shipments, and organizing warehouse stock. A strong commitment to Safety, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is essential. You will conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure it is in good working order and adhere to all company policies. This position requires the ability to perform tasks involving significant Lifting and maneuvering of heavy items, as well as precise control of material handling equipment. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and into warehouse storage.
- Transport materials to and from production or shipping areas.
- Organize and stack inventory within the warehouse.
- Conduct daily checks on equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Follow all Safety guidelines and diligently use all required PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts.
- Support the overall efficiency of the logistics department.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Certification or proven experience operating forklifts and other equipment.
- Ability to perform significant Lifting (up to 75 lbs).
- Strong understanding of warehouse Safety procedures and best practices.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems is a plus.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Commitment to wearing appropriate PPE.
