Join our dynamic team in Houston, Texas, as a Picker/Packer and play a crucial role in our order fulfillment process. We are seeking organized and efficient individuals who are committed to accuracy and speed in handling customer orders. This role involves picking items from inventory, ensuring their accuracy, and packing them securely for shipment, all while maintaining a safe work environment. You will utilize scanning technology and adhere to best practices in our busy logistics facility. Success in this role contributes directly to customer satisfaction and the smooth operation of our distribution center.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately retrieve products from warehouse shelves based on order details provided via scanning devices or pick lists.
- Verify product accuracy against order requirements to minimize errors.
- Package items securely and appropriately to prevent damage during transit, selecting suitable packaging materials.
- Apply shipping labels and any necessary documentation accurately to outgoing packages.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation and contribute to general warehouse tidiness.
- Operate equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks as needed.
- Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy through proper picking and stock handling procedures.
- Strictly adhere to all company safety protocols and guidelines, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Collaborate with other team members to meet daily order fulfillment targets.
- Perform other duties within the logistics department as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a picking/packing or warehouse role is highly preferred.
- Ability to perform frequent lifting, up to 50 lbs.
- Proficiency with RF scanning devices and warehouse management systems is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Understanding of safety procedures in a logistics environment, including the importance of PPE.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting and meet performance standards.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
