Our state-of-the-art distribution center in Detroit, Michigan is seeking a motivated Distribution Center Associate to join our growing team. This role is essential for the efficient operation of our logistics network, ensuring that products are managed, stored, and dispatched effectively. You will be involved in a variety of tasks, contributing to the smooth flow of inventory and timely delivery of goods to our customers. A strong commitment to safety and operational excellence is expected.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and stock incoming inventory accurately.
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment with precision.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery safely.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and support cycle count activities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
- Strictly adhere to all company safety policies, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize workflows and improve efficiency.
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks, which will involve significant lifting.
- Contribute to a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the logistics team.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a distribution center or warehouse setting is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including frequent lifting of up to 60 lbs.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Understanding of logistics principles and supply chain operations.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong adherence to safety protocols and mandatory use of PPE.
- High school diploma or GED required.
