Our growing logistics company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin is seeking an organized and efficient Shipping Clerk. This role is central to ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately and dispatched on time. You will be responsible for preparing shipping documentation, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining records of all outbound logistics. Your meticulous nature and organizational skills are crucial for the success of this position.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and verify shipping labels and documentation for all outgoing packages.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS) for pickup schedules.
- Inspect outgoing shipments for accuracy and damage.
- Maintain accurate records of all shipments, including tracking numbers and destination details.
- Communicate with internal departments to ensure timely order fulfillment.
- Manage shipping supplies inventory and reorder as needed.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including the proper use of PPE, and maintain a safe working environment.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as required, which may include some lifting.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company logistics policies.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar administrative/logistics role.
- Proficiency with shipping software and general computer skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Ability to handle moderate lifting (up to 30 lbs) when assisting with shipments.
- Familiarity with different shipping carriers and logistics processes.
- Commitment to safety and proper use of PPE.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree a plus.
