Are you a certified and experienced Forklift Operator looking for a new opportunity in Atlanta, Georgia? We are seeking a highly skilled individual to join our logistics team. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials within our warehouse. Your duties will include loading and unloading trucks, transporting goods, and stacking products. Safety is our top priority, and we expect all operators to adhere strictly to operational procedures and safety standards. This role offers competitive pay and benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move, stack, and unstack materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload freight from trailers and containers accurately and safely.
- Transport products and materials to and from designated storage areas, production lines, or shipping docks.
- Perform daily pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance issues or defects.
- Ensure materials are stored securely and organized efficiently to maximize warehouse space.
- Assist with inventory control tasks, including cycle counts and stock rotation.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment, adhering to all safety guidelines.
- Follow all company policies and OSHA regulations related to forklift operation and warehouse safety.
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and smooth functioning of our logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification (e.g., OSHA-compliant).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating forklifts in a fast-paced warehouse or distribution environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of safe forklift operating procedures and warehouse safety.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting load sheets and shipping documents.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication skills.
- Flexibility to work different shifts and overtime as needed.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
