Our St. Louis, Missouri distribution center is seeking a meticulous Inventory Control Specialist to join our logistics team. This role is vital for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory, which directly impacts our operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. The Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory management, including cycle counting, stock reconciliation, discrepancy investigation, and system updates. We are looking for an individual with a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to upholding safety standards and proper procedures, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a key function within our logistics operations.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts of inventory items to ensure accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes.
- Perform stock takes and reconcile physical inventory with system records.
- Maintain accurate inventory data in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Monitor inventory levels and report on stock status, shortages, and overages.
- Implement and improve inventory control procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Manage the return process, inspecting and re-stocking returned items accurately.
- Ensure all warehouse areas are organized and conducive to accurate inventory management.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper lifting and the use of PPE.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff and management to resolve inventory issues and improve overall logistics operations.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in inventory control, preferably within a logistics or warehouse environment. Strong understanding of inventory management principles and best practices. Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. High attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to lift and move items up to 30 pounds. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication skills. Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all PPE requirements. This role requires a dedicated professional focused on maintaining precise inventory data for our logistics success.
