Our San Francisco, California logistics hub is looking for experienced Forklift Operators to join our team. This role is crucial for maintaining the smooth and efficient movement of goods throughout our distribution center. You will be responsible for operating forklifts to load, unload, transport, and stack materials. A strong emphasis is placed on safety, accuracy, and productivity. We expect our Forklift Operators to conduct regular equipment checks, adhere to all traffic rules within the warehouse, and maintain a clean and organized work environment. This is a key position within our logistics operations, requiring skill, precision, and a commitment to safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate various types of forklifts (e.g., counterbalanced, reach trucks) to move materials.
- Load and unload shipments from trucks and trailers with efficiency and care.
- Transport goods to and from designated areas, such as storage racks, production zones, and shipping docks.
- Perform pre-shift inspections on forklifts, reporting any defects or maintenance needs immediately.
- Stack merchandise in assigned locations, ensuring stability and proper inventory rotation.
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records through diligent movement and scanning.
- Follow all warehouse safety rules and traffic regulations to prevent accidents.
- Wear and maintain required PPE at all times, including safety shoes, vests, and other designated gear.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of obstructions.
- Coordinate with supervisors and other team members to ensure optimal logistics flow.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 1-2 years of proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or logistics setting. Valid forklift operator certification is required. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and maneuver heavier items with the forklift. Strong knowledge of warehouse safety regulations and procedures. Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial judgment. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and sometimes physically demanding environment. Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a logistics team. Must be reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high safety standards. Willingness to undergo additional safety training and adhere to all PPE requirements. This role is critical for our logistics operations and requires a dedicated and skilled individual.
