We are seeking dedicated and energetic Material Handlers to join our dynamic logistics team in Detroit, Michigan. As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in the efficient movement and organization of goods within our warehouse. Your responsibilities will include loading and unloading trucks, relocating materials, and ensuring inventory accuracy. This is an excellent opportunity to grow within a thriving logistics company.
Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently load and unload materials from trucks and other vehicles.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment to move materials around the facility.
- Perform manual lifting of products, ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent injury.
- Conduct inventory counts and update records as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Inspect equipment before and after use, reporting any issues promptly.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
- Understand and follow all shipping and receiving procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment preferred.
- Ability to perform frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
