Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for Associate (Level 2) or Experienced (Level 3) Quality Engineers to support the 787 Program Quality Engineering Team based out of Puyallup, WA on 1st Shift.

As a Quality Engineer, you will dive deep into the intricacies of our engineering documentation, assessing and enhancing how we translate complex requirements into clear, actionable instructions for our production teammates. Your role will be both challenging and rewarding, as you will engage directly in the building process through on-the-floor observations, ensuring that quality is not just a goal but a culture. You will also be a part of our safety and quality transformation through the execution of our Comprehensive Safety and Quality Plan. Position Responsibilities:

• Analyze engineering documentation to determine process capability and conformance
• Perform data analysis of defect trends and present findings and recommendations
• Lead projects to identify root cause and eliminate defects and rework
• Execute quality build plan changes
• Recommend corrective actions to address non-conformances.
• Perform engineering change review and verification
• Continuous improvement of quality engineering processes

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate and Experienced Quality Engineers.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• ABET accredited engineering degree
• 3+ years’ experience in Aerospace, Manufacturing, Quality, or another regulated industry
• 3+ years of experience in summarizing and/or reviewing documentation to develop informational or technical materials
• 3+ years’ experience collecting, organizing and analyzing data, summarizing findings, and developing conclusions
• 3+ years’ experience applying Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) or other similar rigorous problems/analysis/resolution processes
• 3+ years of experience leading or managing projects that involved cross-functional or cross-business unit teams

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• 5+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience working in Quality Engineering or other production engineering job role
• Experience working with AS9100 and/or similar QMS standard
• Experience with analytics tools & software
• Proactive and collaborative mindset with an emphasis on positive relationships
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written

Typical Education & Experience  

Associate (Level 2): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

Experienced (Level 3): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range (Level 2): $89,250 - $120,750

Summary pay range (Level 3): $107,100 - $144,900
